Ashtray Won't Open..

I am new here & here is my first question about my 2000 ES 300, the ashtray is closed & will not open, anybody know the reason for this ? Thanks

Leave it AS-IS and save yourself a lot of money and grief.

LOL, I don't smoke, thats not why I want it to work, would be nice to have acess to the power plug for phone chargers, the GPS & such.

Must just be jammed try to pry a small flat head under and push it down, then lift gently with the screw driver. Bet some coins or trash has gotten in it and jammed it up.

I'll give that a try, it was jammed when I bought the car about a year ago.

You are a patient man! I know I would have got it opened or broke it within 10 mins of figuring out it was jammed. :)

That sucker is jammed tight, I pried on it a little today but it won't budge & I really don't want to crack the trim so not sure what to try next...maybe just leave it alone.
