kgrx Posted November 16, 2012 Share Posted November 16, 2012 Last weekend, went for a drive in my 2002 RX300. Fuel gauge indicated at least 1/8th of a tank left. Long story short, ran out of gas with the gauge still saying 1/8th of a tank left and low fuel "idiot light" not illuminated. Is this a common problem? Bad fuel gauge sender or something else? Didn't see a fix for this one in the DIY section. Any suggestions welcomed. Please don't say "always fill up when before you get to a 1/4 tank". pj8708 Posted November 17, 2012 Share Posted November 17, 2012 Welcome kgrx to the Lexus Owners Club. Can't say whether yours is a "common" problem, but it happens to all cars. The biggest complaint with almost every car is "How much gas do I REALLY have left when that light comes on.
