Sunroof Won't Open - Justs Grunts In Either Direction

Hello all,

My sunroof is stuck in full closed position. it sounds like it budges a little, it makes an audible grunt sound, when I push the button to either open it or pop it up. I've searched around for and explanation and tried few fixes with no know luck.

Any ideas are apreciated, PK

It would be helpful if you would include the model year of your RX300.

From what I've read over the years on this site, it would appear that you either have a shot drive motor, or a set of "opening -retracting" cables off the tracks.

found this on Club lexus, either a motor or maybe some stuck seals....
