fabioso10
Hello, I'm new to the group and looking for advice on doing the maintenance on a 98+ GS 300.I have worked on cars all my life but never on a car so complex.Has anyone done the 60-90k tuneup? and if so what does it entail? thanks Scott
TurboGS300
I would do everything but the timing belt! Plugs go with the iridiums/filters fuel & air/trans fluid/rear diff oil/ timing belt/drive belt/belt tensioner for timing belt/cam and crank seals/waterpump/thermostat/coolant flush and fill/power steering flush and fill/brake fluid flush and fill with dot4 or 5.i/oil filter/pcv valves/ that should be the majority of it. I would also clean the throttle body with carb cleaner and drop in some fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Do a water flush for carbon buldup in the exhaust chamber. fabioso10
is ther a reason that you wouldn't do the timing belt.I have done them on 2.3 fords and 1.8 fords is there something difficult with this 3.0 motor? thanks again scott
TurboGS300
No! Get a shop manual and you should be okay if you have done them before. It's a good way to mess up your engine if you're not experienced.
