Rear Seat Removal In 2000 Gs300

Recommended Posts

I was attempting to get at the fuel tank in my 2000 GS300. Per other threads I read, the bottom bench came out as described. As you can imagine, they dont come out easily in older vehicles. Got it out, removed the lower 4 bolts on the vertical back of bench, but now I am stuck. It is loose except up top. I was assuming, it was attached by two hangers, but I cannot seem to be able to push it up to remove it. Is it attached differently or am I doing something wrong? I dont want to break it but I have exerted quite a but of upward pressure while wiggling it back an forth to break it loose. No luck so far. A little help here.

If it is like my 2000 LS400, look for hidden fasteners behind velcro flaps behind the head rests. And there may also be one or more fasteners behind a flap behind where the rear armrest is when it is in the "up" (closed) position.
