Window Trim Separating

Recommended Posts

I've got a problem with the window trim separating from the door on my 95 GS3. This gap creates a slight but annoying air leak around the window seal. Can someone tell me how to remove this trim piece without damaging it so I can properly reattach it? Is it held on with clips or double sided tape? Here's a photo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Damn...I have the same thing only no where near as bad (on the driver's side, right?). I was going to use this glue/clear sealant I used in other cars called Weld. I was going to rough up the backside with a dremel, apply a little Weld, and clamp it over night. I figured I'd unhook the battery so the lights won't stay on (since the door would be open while the clamp is in place. I never considered letting Lexus guys spend $$$ to fix it. I don't even know how it happenned, just appeared one day a few months ago. After reading the posts, maybe someone tried to break in?

The question is, how do you take it off? I think I can fix it once it's off, but I don't want to damage it further by doing it wrong.

A trusted body shop suggested an epoxy & clamp approach, but I'd rather fix it from the inside if I can. Thanks.
