Veterans Day is coming up (November 11th) and I thought we could see whom was a veteran, what branch, and what time period....

Thank you for your service.

I will start, United States Navy, 1968-1974 and 1984-1986.

I am not a Veteran, but my father was in the Army, my Uncle fought in Vietnam and is a recipient of the Bronze Star. My wife's stepfather fought in Vietnam. I have many friends and clients who are in the Military or have family in the military so its very close to my heart...

As a matter of fact maybe I'll go down to WV and see my Uncle for Veterans day...

Dad was a Colnel in the Air Force. Flew 52's full of nukes over Northern Atlantic "Chrome Dome" waiting for orders to nuke Moscow. Also was first American into Laos in Nam, flew mapping and spy plane for the carpet bombing runs shortly thereafter. At one point, was one of the most wanted POW's by the VC. Tried to shot down plane and keep crew alive to show them how to work the equipment.

Grandfather (Mom's side): 31 Years United States Coast Guard. Not sure what highest rank held was. 1959?-1990? Something Like that. Died of Cancer in October 1998, RIP.

Great Grandfather (mother's side)-US Army, 30 Years, Drafted in 1935, served until 1965. Purple Heart Recipient (among numerous other awards). Was a Captain, commanding troops on the Beach at Normandy on D-Day. Shot in the left shoulder, and still continued to lead troops through the barrage until they took the beach. He is still alive and well today, in Mobile AL, age 94.

Uncle #1: US navy, not sure of the details

Uncle #2: 24 years USAF

Uncle #3: US Navy, not sure of details

Other, more distant family has served in ever war since WWI. I am just the latest in a long lineage of Freedom Fighters.
