lenore Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Veterans Day is coming up (November 11th) and I thought we could see whom was a veteran, what branch, and what time period.... Thank you for your service. I will start, United States Navy, 1968-1974 and 1984-1986.
SW03ES Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I am not a Veteran, but my father was in the Army, my Uncle fought in Vietnam and is a recipient of the Bronze Star. My wife's stepfather fought in Vietnam. I have many friends and clients who are in the Military or have family in the military so its very close to my heart... As a matter of fact maybe I'll go down to WV and see my Uncle for Veterans day...
nc211 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Dad was a Colnel in the Air Force. Flew 52's full of nukes over Northern Atlantic "Chrome Dome" waiting for orders to nuke Moscow. Also was first American into Laos in Nam, flew mapping and spy plane for the carpet bombing runs shortly thereafter. At one point, was one of the most wanted POW's by the VC. Tried to shot down plane and keep crew alive to show them how to work the equipment.
