lenore Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 What in heaven name is wrong with asking people for their proof of being here legally? Cops dont have time for this 99% of the time, but when they have a reason to believe they are illegal, and believe me they know....(it is learning the streets) than they should be able to ask. I know for a fact (family member is a police officer and married to a Latino) that picking out illegals is generally a very easy task. Both of them are Cops, and generally only do search of ID when a crime or suspicion of crime has been committed. I was an kid living on Air Force bases all my young life, and was always asked for ID. I found it to be part of the protection of the base and protection of our country from foreign threats. IT is not harrassment to check folks out, Just as in Europe I was asked for my Passport and ID. Not a big deal. Funny how folks get so uptite but are screaming !Removed! murder when the cops didnt catch the bad guys before they commited the crime. Same goes with illegals (Note: illegal means they committed unauthorized entry into our nation, your country, and our home) As for asking for ID at polling places, that is how it use to be, but the progressives felt this was discriminatory, So now we dont know whom is voting....how sad. Anybody can register and vote even if they are not US citizens. Is that what the Progressives and Democratic, as well as Republicans want? They are essentially destroying the whole process. As for your civil liberties, they are being taken away with the backlash of people like Eric Holder when they make rushes to judgement on protecting our rights and laws, especially when they protect only certain minority groups....Like the Black Panthers standing outside polling booths intimidating voters while trying to vote. What is with that.? Eric Holder decided that was ok....OK, man talk about a racist. Talk about civil liberties, we cant even board a plane without patt down on old white ladies and 4 year old babies because we wont profile the real threat of middle eastern men and women... Its like saying we want everybody to suffer for the bad deads of a few. Profiling is not bad when it makes rational decision making to prevent catastrophe to our people. Liberalism is a mental disorder.....That is why europe is so screwed up. As for language, past immigrants learned English, keeping their second language is fine, but learning English makes them assimilate into the society that they so desperately want to become part of. That is the problem now, we want to cater to all of the languages when we should stop. Why should we support multiple languages at the cost of millions when we are supposed to speak english. Another step to destroying our American heritage. Culture is fine, we are a mixing pot, but what made us great is that we all wanted to be AMERICAN. If everyone wrote done they were American instead of latino, black, indian, etc maybe the barriers between racial equality would fall down once in for all. When I meet folks from other countries they designate themselve as from that country, not that they are Chinese, etc. even when they have that ancestory. We are our own worst enemy...This whole racist thing is a wall in truely meeting equality for all. Identifying folks for the purpose of apprehinding or finding someone should be the only reason to declare a person was some different color etc. Like identifying that you are blue eyed, brown hair, white, 6 foot tall...Those are terms for identity...I personally am sick and tired of the racist backlash. When I am with my Black, mexican, etc friends they are just my friends. I love them as the people that have the same values and interest that I have. God knows I love my friend that was formally from Nigeria, because he and I have mutual values and love this country. (He is black) but he constantly reminds me of the greatness of this nation, and constantly strives to become American, raising his family in the great opportunities that make this nation great. By the way he deplores illegal immigration because he studied and fought so hard to come here legally. He is very well educated and works three jobs in meeting his AMerican dream. That is the proper way to come to this nation. Legally.
SW03ES Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 What in heaven name is wrong with asking people for their proof of being here legally? Because we have laws in this country. We have the ability to move about freely without having to prove anything to anybody. Law enforcement agents have to have PROBABLE CAUSE to search us, or demand identification from us. Thats the LAW. Those protections are afforded us in the Constitution. You want to change that, and I don't...who is the conservative now? Cops dont have time for this 99% of the time, but when they have a reason to believe they are illegal, and believe me they know....(it is learning the streets) than they should be able to ask. How do they know? Because of the way someone looks or the way they talk? Thats racial profiling and its illegal. People have rights lenore, even Hispanic people. Sorry. I was an kid living on Air Force bases all my young life, and was always asked for ID. I found it to be part of the protection of the base and protection of our country from foreign threats. An Air Force Base is a secure facility, a city street is not. Entirely different thing. I would not have the right to walk the streets of an Air Force Base unescorted. EVERYONE has the right to walk on a street. Anybody can register and vote even if they are not US citizens. I have no problem with asking EVERYBODY to prove citizenship when registering to vote. Oh yeah...I can't remember the last time I walked into a polling place without the Black Panthers intimidating me! Get real. Groups have a right to protest and to gather, whether you agree with what they have to say or not. Thats in the constitution too. You want to change that and I don't...again...who is the conservative? Talk about civil liberties, we cant even board a plane without patt down on old white ladies and 4 year old babies because we wont profile the real threat of middle eastern men and women... Its like saying we want everybody to suffer for the bad deads of a few. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh my God, listen to yourself! You're upset because you can't board a plane without a patt down but you want Hispanics to submit to random illegal searches when walking down the street to prove they are citizens with no probable cause! HILARIOUS! Profiling is not bad when it makes rational decision making to prevent catastrophe to our people. Easy for an upper middle class white man to say. Liberalism is a mental disorder.....That is why europe is so screwed up. But I thought they were wonderful because they ask you for ID? Good lord...
lenore Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 As for the Black Panthers the problem was the right to protest is only allowed within so many feet of the place of voting, which was being ignored. These folks were right at the entrance. See this utube video.... Some of them were passing out voter forms for the 2008 election....wonderful.
SW03ES Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 As for the Black Panthers the problem was the right to protest is only allowed within so many feet of the place of voting, which was being ignored. These folks were right at the entrance. Then they should be moved back the appropriate distance. Where is your source that Eric Holder has said they should be allowed to be within the boundary imposed around a poling place? I've been involved in elections before, my business partner ran for local office a couple years ago and I handed out info at polling places for him. He's very involved politically, he's a precinct chair, etc. Its more complicated than that. People representing people on the ballot cannot be within a certain number of feet of the polling place, but that doesn't cover protesters. If they are just protesting, and not campaigning for a specific candidate I don't know that the rules apply... I would say that brandishing a weapon is certainly grounds for them to be arrested... Anyways...I don't see Eric Holder stating that they should be allowed to be inside the 100ft boundary of the polling place, but they certainly have a right to be there and to protest.
lenore Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 No but they committed a crime and Eric Holder refused to support the prosecution of these individuals....Not only that he refused anybody to prosecute.
SW03ES Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Show me the source. Anyways, you over emphasize the importance of the Attorney General. The Attorney General cannot "disallow" anyone to prosecute anything. If a state or federal prosecutor wants to bring about charges, and a state or federal court wants to hear a case, it can regardless of the opinion of the Attorney General. You really need to do more research before you form opinions Lenore. First the President is a socialist because his cabinet heads are referred to as "czars" when thats a term coined by the media that has been in use for many years, then the Attorney General is "disallowing" courts from prosecuting people. You're like Don Quixote shooting at windmills out there
LEXIRX330 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Well time for me to chime in. My problem is even when we catch the illegals...we still don't do anything? I mean come on. I absolutely do not think the police should be able to walk up to someone and ask for their papers for no reason. However something needs to be done...why not have checkpoints just like sobriety checkpoints? Require all drivers to show their licenses. I am sorry but I am fed up with the illegals in this country. I am tired of having people that get hit by them and guess what no insurance. And most of the time they leave the scene of the accident. Got a great client that lost his leg due to one that hit him while he was on his motorcycle. It is happening more and more. SW probable cause is whatever the officer wants it to be. Do you know why I pulled you over? You didn't use your signal back there.... You going to argue with him maybe but he still will win in most cases. Point is I agree with you that just because some one is black, brown, green, or purple they shouldn't have to show papers. But it is starting to get ridiculous when you hear about stories like this http://charlotte.news14.com/content/top_stories/568388/dwi-suspect-was-deported-before/ or this http://www.wnd.com/2006/12/39119/ or maybe this one http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2012/apr/24/mexican-nation-sentenced-21-months-prison-illegall/ see a pattern here? Funny thing is that they just keep doing it...deport them they come back over, and over, and over. And the keep doing the same thing. In my business I have seen a huge problem with some that have learned the system and have recently had two state fraud investigations in the past month. Get this one guy who claimed he was a MD resident bought a policy in MD, had a claim in DE which started the investigation come to find out he never lived at the address provides and was collecting unemployment under two names in two different states! Now I know I have went off on a rant but there is a huge problem in this country. And I am not saying that there are not pleanty of hard working Mexican Americans in this country because there are. So what do we do just keep doing what we are doing??? HINT: It's not working!
SW03ES Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 However something needs to be done...why not have checkpoints just like sobriety checkpoints? I don't have to participate in a sobriety checkpoint if I don't want to, and if the police officer doesn't have probable cause he cannot force me to. Being a law abiding citizen I always would, but I don't HAVE to. SW probable cause is whatever the officer wants it to be. Do you know why I pulled you over? You didn't use your signal back there.... Thats not a reason to just give law enforcement officers carte blanche to search people without probable cause. You can't pass legislation that throws probable cause out the window because its a grey area. Talk about taking a step that will erode the very foundation of what American civil liberties are. Its a constitutional right, to pass a law that throws it out which the law in Arizona basically does is an attack upon our very soul. I agree there is a problem here, but the solution to the problem is not to take a page out of Adolf Hitler's playbook and make an entire race of people in our country present their origin and paperwork whenever its demanded of them for no reason whatsoever except that they are suspected of being a certain nationality. That is simply a sickening thought. If we submit to that, theres no America left to save.

That is simply a sickening thought. If we submit to that, theres no America left to save. And what would happen if you didn't participate in the soberitiy checkpoint? I am not saying that we should do anything other than start enforcing the LAW. Why should you or I have to obey the law if we can't expect our government to enforce the law? I am not a racist or a extremist but I am extremely worried about the direction this country is heading. When we have lawmakers in this country trying to get in state tutuion for illegals at some universities and colleges? THEY SHOULD NOT BE HERE...and certainly not get a break on their college tuitions. I honestly would have no problem with bringing our troops home and putting them on our border to the south!
SW03ES Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 And what would happen if you didn't participate in the soberitiy checkpoint? If they have no reason to suspect I have been drinking, and trained police officers can tell, they would let me go. Or they could arrest me...but again they are going to need probable cause to do that, and no officer would arrest me unless they are reasonably confident I'd been drinking because of the repercussions. I'd sue them so fast for wrongful arrest it'd make their heads spin. If the police officer hassles you, he thinks you've been drinking and thats his probable cause. Anyways, sobriety checkpoints are really violations of the 4th amendment anyways... Now...obviously I would never do that, I would comply because I know they're doing their jobs trying to keep ME and my family safe. BUT, I do not HAVE to comply. What the law they tried to pass in AZ said was hispanics HAD to comply or face arrest...the probable cause being that they were hispanic. Disgusting. I agree with you about enforcing the law. We don't need new law...we need law thats enforced. We need to punish employers for hiring illegal workers, etc.
lenore Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Since when do you not have to participate in sobriety check points....? That is new to me, in California if you are selected they will check you....Why do Liberals always say Hitlers playbook...So Obama is completely playing by those rules.. He wants to eliminate and control all guns by private citizens, He wants government to control banks or vice versa., He desires to control the health industry with government, and he wants to continue the government dole system and welfare system which basically holds citizens in a no work slave to government role. He has chipped away at states rights (Arizona, Florida ) Hitler first task was controlling guns, then banks, and eventually the decisions for private citizens in making any decisions. Do you see the similiarity.? By the way Hilter's first attack was registering all guns so that the government could seize them. He took over the banks so that all power was transferred to his political group. Then he tore down the family by teaching children to turn in those that didnt believe his propaganda. So do the airport checkers have probable cause to search you at the airports.???? Thank you for the politically correct, no profiling which has caused this disaster. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, then it is possible it is a duck...Wouldnt it be easier to check these folks out then let them run rampart, collect our tax dollars and take away the benefits from our elderly and never pay a dime into this system. Liberalism is a mental disorder....How so true, they cant see past reality....If you lived on the borders of Arizona, Texas, etc you would be very frightened when the drug runners are going through your property and we do nothing. Thank you Politicians for protecting us from this illegal activity while trying to subjugate the minorities for votes...WHat a sick society we have. Meanwhile the ratio of workers to people on the government take gets closer and closer to 50% for each group...Yep Obama's job fix with green ponzi schemes which just direct money under the table back to his re-election coffers is what Eric Holder should be investigating. Half a billion here, half billion there, means nothing to this administration while they party, in Vegas, and take lavish trips all over the world on the back of tax payers. Unemployment even by their numbers has gone nowhere but up....Millions have finished their benefits and gave up looling, but hey they arent in the numbers anymore....Jobs created drops again....Politicians think the only way is to tax the 1% folks and add more taxes on the backs of the middle class. Pretty much the middle class is shrinking, pretty soon their will only be the poor or the politicals and we will be no better than the former Soviet Union, Cuba, Greece, Spain, and all of the rest socialist ran economies.
SW03ES Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Since when do you not have to participate in sobriety check points....? That is new to me, in California if you are selected they will check you.... You can thank that forced per se violation of your 4th Amendment right to protection against unreasonable search and seizure to California liberals You can always refuse to participate. In CA you can use your license for refusing a blood or breath test, but there are only 11 states where checkpoints are legal, and they have to be done correctly. For instance, it has to be marked, with an opportunity to turn around beforehand, etc. They won't ask you to do a sobriety test unless they think you've been drinking. Why do Liberals always say Hitlers playbook... Because in !Removed! Germany and other countries occupied by the !Removed! anyone who was Jewish had to wear a star of david on their clothes to identify them as Jewish. Failure to do so resulted in death...suspicion of being Jewish amounted to grounds for unreasonable search and seizure...exactly what the AZ law purports for hispanics. Go back to history class. He wants to eliminate and control all guns by private citizens Source. He wants government to control banks or vice versa Source He has chipped away at states rights (Arizona, Florida) States don't have the right to pass laws that are in violation of the US constitution. The AZ immigration law is unconstitutional, whether the people of AZ voted for it or not. And what has he done in FL? So do the airport checkers have probable cause to search you at the airports.???? No, but an airplane is not a public place. You do not have a right to board an airplane. Thank you for the politically correct, no profiling which has caused this disaster. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, then it is possible it is a duck. God damn...if you would only listen to yourself. Just from a practical standpoint, do you think the terrorists are so stupid that they wouldn't realize it if we were only searching people of middle eastern decent? Plenty of white terrorists too my friend. Wouldnt it be easier to check these folks out then let them run rampart Sure. It would be easier to set fire to the constitution and declare martial law too. The right way to do something is seldom the easy way. If you lived on the borders of Arizona, Texas, etc you would be very frightened when the drug runners are going through your property and we do nothing. I thought Government wasn't the solution to our problems? Being frightened is not an excuse to take people's rights away from them.
lenore Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Government is not the solution in their terms of banks, auto industry etc. But the prime reason for Government is to protect its borders. gun control by hitler: http://constitutiona...ftist/id14.html As for bank takeover he took over and printed his own currancy....Just like this administration printing money to pay the bills. http://www.webofdebt...upt-germany.php His use of unions to take over is documented here...similiar tactics with the bully tactics... German Worker's Party Soon after the war in Munich, Hitler was recruited to join a military intelligence unit (the Press and Propaganda Department of Group Command IV of the Reichswehr), and was assigned to keep tabs on the German Worker's Party. At the time, it was comprised of only a handful of members. It was disorganized and had no program, but its members expressed a right-wing doctrine consonant with Hitler's. He saw this party as a vehicle to reach his political ends. His blossoming hatred of the Jews became part of the organization's political platform. Hitler built up the party, converting it from a de facto discussion group to an actual political party. Advertising for the party's meetings appeared in anti-Semitic newspapers. The turning point of Hitler's mesmerizing oratorical career occurred at one such meeting held on October 16, 1919. Hitler's emotional delivery of an impromptu speech captivated his audience. Through word of mouth, donations poured into the party's coffers, and subsequent mass meetings attracted hundreds of Germans eager to hear the young, forceful and hypnotic leader. As chairman of the NSDAP, he came into contact with Ludendorff, Gottfried Feder (1883-1941), Ernst Röhm (1887-1934), and Dietrich Eckart (1868-1923), whose influence was reflected in Hitler's thought: Gottfried Feder ("Break the bond of interest"), Ernst Röhm (the concept of the "state in arms") and Dietrich Erkart (anti-communism). With the assistance of party staff, Hitler drafted a party program consisting of twenty-five points. This platform was presented at a public meeting on February 24, 1920, with over 2,000 eager participants. After hecklers were forcibly removed by Hitler supporters armed with rubber truncheons and whips, Hitler electrified the audience with his masterful demagoguery. Jews were the principal target of his diatribe. Among the 25 points more negative points were the abrogation of the Versailles Treaty, confiscating war profits, expropriating land without compensation for use by the state, revoking civil rights for Jews, and expelling those Jews who had emigrated into Germany after the war began. More appealing to the masses were no doubt his promotion of the popular welfare ("the common weal comes before individual welfare"), the right of the establishment of self-determination for all Germans and equal rights for their state, and the destruction of the "bondage of interest." The DAP was renamed the National Socialist German Workers' Party. The following day, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were published in the local anti-Semitic newspaper. The false, but alarming accusations reinforced Hitler's anti-Semitism. Soon after, treatment of the Jews was a major theme of Hitler's orations, and the increasing scape-goating of the Jews for inflation, political instability, unemployment, and the humiliation in the war, found a willing audience. Jews were tied to "internationalism" by Hitler. The name of the party was changed to the National Socialist German Worker's party, and the red flag with the swastika was adopted as the party symbol. A local newspaper which appealed to anti-Semites was on the verge of bankruptcy, and Hitler raised funds to purchase it for the party. In July 1921 Hitler became chairman of the party (No. 7 on the Executive Committee). In January 1923, French and Belgian troops marched into Germany to settle a reparations dispute. Germans resented this occupation, which also had an adverse effect on the economy. Hitler's party benefitted by the reaction to this development, and exploited it by holding mass protest rallies despite a ban on such rallies by the local police. The !Removed! party began drawing thousands of new members, many of whom were victims of hyper-inflation and found comfort in blaming the Jews for this trouble. The price of an egg, for example, had inflated to 30 million times its original price in just 10 years. Economic upheaval generally breeds political upheaval, and Germany in the 1920s was no exception. The Munich Putsch
nc211 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 The whole Hitler thing, even mentioning his name in the same universe as Obama, I find to be a "rolling my eyes" moment, every time it comes up in general. Like or dislike Obama. Like or dislike the other side of the isle. Curious if the guy you're talking to is here legally, and have your Johnson / vajayjay / whowhos patted down or scanned before you board a pressurized mobility device to make sure you don't turn it into a screaming death missile - is a far stretch from a guy who defined genocide by the most horrific example of the word in man's modern history (and was stopped in large part by the very country some seem to think has elected a man of similar qualities). But, this is nothing new, and is the classic play played in the battles of modern day politics. It wasn't too long ago that a President who reacted to airplanes being turned into screaming death missiles was also compared to Hitler too. Obama is no Hitler, or a !Removed! sympathizer, or follower. If America truly were on that path, then I'd hope somebody would invade and kick our butts! Fact of the matter is that America is growing up (and out). We're evolving, we're learning as we go. Sure mistakes will be made, comes with the territory of also being the first called for help, and being a true beacon of hope/freedom and safety in an ever shrinking world of rapid communication. Disagreeing with a President's opinions and direction he/she wishes to take, is the American way. If it were the !Removed! way, I'd be dead by now. While I'm no fan of enough of the policies in the current administration to not vote for them again (primarily based on the financial costs and timing of those costs), nobody, in my opinion, is facing a !Removed! Germany scenario in this country, no matter your legal/racial/ethnical status. My plan - vote for the private sector this election, with hopes it can help more than it is to fix the economy. I think that's what is needed the most right now. I have been fortunate to embrace what some would probably deem as a selfish outlook, the 40,000 foot view of the landscape. I wouldn't disagree with that. I am who I am, and it is what it is. Paco and his drug gang buddies in Mexico aren't on my radar screen enough to consider their issue into my thinking of what we need to do to fix some things. Besides, my view on that is simple and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who knows me - Paco lives by the gun, so he should probably die by the gun. Bring that gun across this line in the sand, and I'll make your likely conclusion become a reality (eventually, after I water board your a$$ to the point of knowing where the rest of your buddies are too). You aim to profit from the harm of my life, so I have not a single problem harming yours first, and God can tell me if I was right or wrong in doing so, later.
lenore Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I dont like the Hilter crud either, but the socialistic move in govenment will never make our economy better. Step aside government and let the private enterprise with the will of the jungle sort out the weakest and provide us a stronger economy. Printing money until it is worthless is just repeating history....and it did not work.....I dont want us to repeat the war theme to solve our economic problems, but what the pointy heads in this administration is doing could lead us down that path. I wouldnt be surprised if Iran will be our target to get elected again. I hope not. Time will tell and desperate politicians do bad things....

There is ZERO class in politics nowadays. Zero.
GDixon Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 One vote for your dad right here. Maybe a write-in. :)
SW03ES Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 LOL...I'm sure he would appreciate that! I don't have an issue with people not agreeing with others, even strongly disliking them, thats part of the political process. Its this radicalism, these statements that the guy is not an American, a muslim, a communist, that he's trying to somehow subvert and destroy the country like a terrorist that really reduces the level of political discourse to the point where you can't even have an intelligent discussion thats the issue with me.
lenore Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I never said Iraq was Obama's fault, however he did miss the opportunity when Iran was in turmoil and close to revolution...He didnt even give the protesters a at-a-boy.....
nc211 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Its like my Dad said about Obama during the 2008 election...and my Dad was about as right wing as they came..."I don't like the guy, I think he's an idiot, I don't think he knows what he's doing, but I don't think he's a muslim driving around with a bomb in his trunk...thats crazy talk". There is ZERO class in politics nowadays. Zero. I agree! And I get angry at myself sometimes when I allow it to filter into my own thought process too, in that kind of way. Honestly, I'm finding much of this kind of stuff coming from the older generation, the retirees and such. Not a ding to the older crowd, but rarely do I see stuff about Obama turning us into socialists and yada yada from those in my own age bracket. My dad, who has been retired now for 7 years and spend his winters in southern florida, has gotten like this now too, especiallly this year. Spends his summers in NE Oklahoma / winters in SW Florida. By August, he's all for guns and nobody telling him to wear a helmet when he rides his motorcycle. Time to go back to Florida. By April, I get the email fw's stating supposed fact on why a muslim can't be a good american. Seriously, just got one exactly like that about 3 weeks ago. I look at the forwarding chain of emails, and they're all his old buddies down there who think Obama is a wild-card muslim out to ruin us from within. The muslim/american email though, I couldn't resist a response, to all of those in that email chain. I reminded those who were on that list of a little fact about themselves, this country, and our future. Give us your tired, your poor, your..... is the basis of our nation. The majority of our DNA lays in roots of our ancestors who were fleeing religious persecution. Freedom to believe in whatever God you want, was one of the main draws to the early makeup of America. In summary: America exists today much because it was born to harbor the "mutts" of European society who didn't fit the mold of society back then. Not much has changed, except those who feel today's America should be making the molds for society to conform to. Personally, I think Obama's story is pretty cool! I like A LOT about him, and wish I could stand behind him more. But, I can't, for the simple fact that history has proven many times in the past that the longer the government drills down into the economic challenges to try and control it, the longer the economic challenges seem to exist. Two things I said feared in late 2008 on here somewhere with electing a democrat: Too much red tape created in the process, and too much debt. Funny I say that, because much of that debt has a personal benefit to me directly in the commercial real estate world of Washington, DC. It has been very good to me! But, it's time for some slack in the leash again. It's time for the private sector to take the charge, and the politicians to quiet down and stop being celebraties. It's time for America to take a break from talking politics and government this/that/the other in every other breath. That's my take, anyway. I don't know if fact can support my comments, and I'm positive I don't have the time to go digging through our immediate history to look for them. I'm sure all that i've said has a counter-balancing arguement that makes sense. But, what I do know, is the feeling in the business community, which is one along the lines of: "leave us alone, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue." That feeling, baseless or not, is a fact. And that is the fault of Obama's administration, for failing to convey the right message. Government today does not feel like a "partner" for solution. It feels like a direct competitor. That's a problem and the root of my support for the Republicans, this time around. Might change next time, probably will. Probably why I'm seeing a lot of chatter in the media about who's going to run...in 2016. I think those who are pros at the political game already know the likely outcome in a few months, and are now playing the chess game a few moves ahead of what is on the board right now. What I hope doesn't happen though, if Obama loses, is the racial card being played. Mitt Romney is about as suburban "white bread" as it gets. The "image" of this, if not presented correctly, has the real possiblity of not being accepted correctly. That's something I do fear.
lenore Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 The only racist were those that voted for him purely because of his race...That is sad and indicative of the failure of the Jesse Jacksons. Sure would be nice if people would vote for what they really believe in.

Sure would be nice if people would vote for what they really believe in. I agree with that. Unfortunately, they're the ones I'm talking about that I worry will not react in a non-violent manner if Obama loses, and some conspiracy is formulated as to why he lost. This is a little more than a missed verdict in some courtroom somewhere. This is 1600 Penn Ave. Uncomfortable topic, for sure. But one that I think people should keep in the back of their minds as we approach the final stretch to the election. Just be "aware" of the possiblity. Tis the season of protesting, ya' know.

The numbers only indicate a decrease in the growth of spending....The amount spent is actually grown.....Look at the Heritage report and read it carefully...This is like saying we spent only 1.4 % of what we wanted to spend. However we still spent this huge 3.4 trillion.....Its symantics trying to hide the real bill.
