Throttle Body And Fuel In Jector Cleaning

Just purchased a 1999 LX470 with 128,000 miles. I recently read an article on how to clean the throttle body and fuel injectors using the 3M Fuel system tune up kit # 08963 . Is this neccessary ?? Has anyboby performed this service. I beleive the LEXUS Dealers do offer and recommend service. I read that there is a sensor at the 12oclock position on the throttle that could be damaged?? I would appreciate any info.
