Maha Posted September 10, 2011 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Hello, I own a lexus rx 300 year 1999. My check engine light would not Go off. I still took it to the emissions test and it of course failed. My mechanic cleared the miles and told me to drive the Lexus for about 60 miles. If the check engine light didn't come on, I was suppose to take it to the test again. However after only about 15 miles, the light came on again. I took it back to the mechanic and he says that I need to replace the Charcoal Canister. When I asked around, I found out that I can only buy that from the Lexus Dealership. I looked on Ebay & Amazon and I found a Charcoal Canister for an RX 300 but its for years 2001,2002 and 2003, Can I use that for my 1999 Rx 300 car? I also found a ES300, year 1999 Lexus Charcoal canister. Would I be able to use that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
