08Is350 Rpm Needle Stayed High While Slowing Down

Recommended Posts

The problem Im having is that now and then while moving down hill or slowing down, my car's rpm needle (the right odometer) will stay at 2.5-3 (around 60-70mph). I complained to my dealer who said they found nothing wrong with my car. A few months later I brought it up again and they said oh it's a common problem experiencing by IS owners!! And Lexus currently has no solution for this b/c it's a safety measure to keep the car speed in check! Anyone has the same problem and a solution for this? tyvm in advance.

I am not sure if this is called "problem". I drove my 2006 IS350 from LA to Seattle last weekend and I experienced the same. RPM stayed HIGH when doing downhill. This might be the down hill assistance feature. My 2010 toyota Highlander does this the last time we drove from seattle to Vegas. Even though the RPM raised, but the speed did not raise. I think this is good thing.
