Vrc Error Message

Recommended Posts

As I was coming home from work I noticed that an error message came on my screen displaying "Check VRC". Then the engine light, tire pressure light and the skid light all came on at the same time. The car had a little tremble for a short time then resumed it's usually smooth ride. When I got home (praying all the way) and turned the car off I could hear something still running for a few seconds. I turned the car back on and all of the lights were still on. Has anyone else experienced this or not. I'm not sure weither to drive it to a repair shop or to should I have it towed. Is the car safe to drive???

Are you sure the message isn't "Check VSC" instead of "Check VRC"? VSC turns off for a variety of mostly unrelated issues. I've had the check VSC message on my 00 LS come on due to defective batteries, throttle position sensor, etc. As long as the car is running normally, not overheating, etc., it should be safe to drive it to a repair shop. The first thing the mechanic "should" do is to check for stored problem codes.
