Doors Will Not Lock

Hello all. I recently bought a 97 es 300. Beautiful car I might add. When i bought the car the door locks worked fine. Just recently the doors stop locking, by key or using the door lock. I can manually lock the doors, like pushing the lock buttton...but it will not lock by key or button. The catch is that it will unlock by key and button. Seems to be a bit strange PLZ help!!!! i cant lock so my security wont come on at all...
