Gx460 Vibration

Hi!

Just joined the club.

Bought a GX460 in May 2010.

At about 5,000km developed drivetrain vibration.

Informed today by Lexus that it is 'characteristic of the design'.

Strange characteristic for this class of vehicle.

Therefore, Lexus is still plagued by vibration issues and has no solution.

Otherwise I enjoy the vehicle. It is also very light on gas (25 mpg - Imperial - on road trip through Oregon coast, with 4 adults)

Welcome to the LOC!

What year is your GX, and did the dealer specify that the vibration was specific to that year and model only?

Welcome to LOC!

I will assume that you have a 2010 GX as I do...and I will say your mpg's are amazing. I avg about 15 - 16. But I do about 50/50 highway/city driving and I also like to put my foot in it occasionally! :) On trips it is much better. Is the vibration at all speeds? I have no vibration but I have heard of a few at certain speeds that have. Have you checked the air in your tires? Got mine back from service and it was riding rough and my air pressure was at 37 psi cold adjusted to 32 huge difference. This is more than likely not your problem but it may help to reduce what you are feeling. I think I would have to go back to the dealership and ask them to explain this characteristic of the design? Mine doesn't have it but if it did I would be back to the dealersip until it didn't.

Best of luck.
