atayl620
Hello! I've been looking into a newer Lexus model and found a 2002 IS 300. But the car has 200+K on it. If it's been properly maintained...Is it worth purchasing? Will the car last?
UKwildcats
I just traded my 99 RX300 with 198K on it. It was actually put into use in Mar 98. I never had any major problems with it. I always did the regular maintenance. I would definitely have kept it for one of my kids if they didn't already have 2009 cars. I loved that car. :cries: I miss it. pj8708
This is a question with no definitive answer. In other words, it depends. In my personal opinion, I would not buy a car with that many miles on it. At that point in any cars life, things will one by one need to be worked on or replaced and I am not a wrencher nor do I want to spend time fixing things on weekends. On the other hand, if you are experienced and like to work on and repair cars, this might be for you. But the most important decision point of all is whats the price?? If the cost of acquisition is low enough to offset the eventual repairs, it might be worth considering. Again, IMO, proceed with caution. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
