abentkov
I'm at about 280K on my 98 GS400 and its about time to do some preventative maintenance I was wandering what parts are required to do timing belt and water pump replacement. Belt, Water Pump, seals? tensioner?
AngelTheKiller
The timing belt can be replaced at any Lexus dealer. It may cost you about $900 but it is a very good thing to replace, especially around the mileage you're at. I think the only thing they may replace is the belt itself. If they take the engine cover off and see that anything else needs replacing (tensioner etc.) they'll probably mention it to you. Same with the water pump, but the main priority is the belt itself.
