Mass Air Flow Cleaner Question

Have 96 ES300 with check engine light on. Trying to follow suggestion to use MAF cleaner. Went to Advance Auto and bought the first thing I saw; CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. ( CRC#599C )

One of the "directions" reads as follows:

DO NOT use on vehicles with a Karman-Vortex air flow sensor, e.g. Toyota Supra Turbos, Mitsubishi's and most Lexus vehicles.

Any thoughts?? If this is for real, any suggestions as to a different product?
