TradeMarck Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Ok, I'm a new used Lexus owner and I've some how locked myself out to the car. The remote key was working fine and it can be locked from the outside with the key. I turned off the remote button inside the car and locked the door from the outside. NOW, the door won't unlock with the key nor the remote button. The battery has been changed in the key but since the remote button was turned off, it won't work regardless. The key will turn left to lock but not right to unlock. I don't have a manual and my local Lexus dealer is too busy to answer my calls. A mechanic friend suggested to lift the door handle half way up and turn to the right... No luck. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!!
VBdenny Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Spray some WD-40 in the lock and try working it with the key. If the issue is a sticky lock cylinder, this might work. With remotes, the cylinders don't get used very often.
landar Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Sounds like you have an early 90's LS. Try wiggling/jiggling the key in the door lock while turning clockwise. I will bet you can get it to unlock that way. Also try the passenger side as well if you have no luck with the driver's side.
