pwade84 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 MY LS 400 won't start. It will rotate all day long but will not start. It has new ignition wires and spark plugs, and has new distributor caps androtors. The coils were testedand found to be in working condition. Is there anything that I am missing here? I don't know what else to look at so I'm turnng to my fellow LS owners for a little help. One thing to note, just before I changd out the wires and plugs, I had lightblue smoke puffing from the tail pipe. After the wire switch, the car never said a word again. I tried putting the old wiresback on but, the car still said nothing. I don't know what else to do.
curiousB Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I take it that the car has not run since changing the wires and ran OK prior to the change? In that case you must have a wiring error of some type. Or the distributor cap or rotor are not properly keyed into position (they have index tabs to align them). I'd recheck your wiring. You probably reversed a few wires. I find it helpful to take a picture before starting in as a reference of before.
VBdenny Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 If you did this job yourself, take the disributor cap off and check everything. Sometimes you have to take 2 steps back to take one forward.
