My New Mexico & Arizona Trip

Sorry that I took so long to post this. Been very busy since I got back. Went from Arlington, Texas to El paso. Stayed there a couple of days visiting my sister, then went to Tombstone Arizona, next to the Saguro national park and on to the Colossal Cave. Then up to the Grand canyon (siouth rim) and on to the Meteor Crater. Next I went to The Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. (They are in one park). Had a great time and here are my gasoline stats:

Stayed with premium the whole trip because some octane levels were very low.

Still very happy with the car. (2008 Lexus ES350 Ultra)

I was interested in your mileage recap as I read it just before we started a 1900 mile trip from Minneapolis to Phoenix in my new ES350. Had 4900 miles on it when we started. My mileage turned out to be almost the same as yours: 29.4 mpg. The worst I got on any fillup was 26.4 on a tank that included 60 miles of around-town driving. The best I got was 31.2. I used 89 octane on the entire trip. What a ride!

My 08 has 19,480 miles on it and has given 35+ MPG at 73 mph consistently using 93 octane fuel.Travel has been mostly in the central plains with a trip last August from Oklahoma to St. Catherines, Ontario and back via Chicago. Needless to say I am very satisfied.
