magat1 Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 I just ordered some rims 18x9 with a +35 offset, what size tire does anyone recommend for my 92 SC400? Thanks for the feedback!!!
Lex Luthor Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Return them if you can, +35 is a bit too low an offset for these cars.
magat1 Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 what do you mean too low, can I modify them?
jzz30 Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 you can put spacers inbetween the wheels and for tire size try a 255/35/18
Lex Luthor Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Spacers will only make it worse...sorry to burst your bubble but like I said return them if you can, just watching out for ya.
Steve Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 the factory offset for these cars are 50 the lowest you really should go is 45... 35 will put pressure on your bearings and axle and it will drive like a pig and tramline over every bump you hit. This is not a safe offset and recommend you take them back. Spacers are bad... dont risk your life and your car... get it right. Also dont let any store tell you thats ok.. its crap... they are there to pocket your cash!
Lexual Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Question what about a 18x7.5 with a 42 offset??? A go or no go??
AWJ Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 +42 will be closer to ideal. It will probably work better. +45 to +50 is better.
