rfcbuf Posted September 12, 2010 Share Posted September 12, 2010 I hear a loud continuous humming sound from rear at 45-55mph. RX 330 is AWD and has 40k miles. Can it be from U joint? Dosen't sound like wheel bearing, more like a steady loud roar, noise lessens at speeds above 60 mph. Any other similar complaints or suggestions of noise source. foremandesa Posted November 28, 2010 Share Posted November 28, 2010 I have the same thing on the same vehicle. Sort of a whining noise at the same speed you mention. Mainly seems to occur when coasting or with foot on the gas to maintain speed. I had my mechanic look at it and he found nothing wrong.
