bglexus Posted February 11, 2004 Share Posted February 11, 2004 Greetings All, I'm in the process of changing out the 3 Oxygen sensors on my '96 SC300. The 2 exhaust manifold sensors were fairly easy to remove/replace. However, the rear sensor requires the car to be raised and a rubber grommet to be removed. My question is this: Once I detach the Oxygen sensor from the exhaust pipe and remove the grommet from the underside of the floor board, can I pull the wire bundle downward to reach the plug. I'm not sure if there is enough slack to pull the wiring down and detach the plug from under the car. It appears the plug connection is physically located under the passenger floor board. My husband ended up cleaning the sensors and all the sensors now work fine. Our problem has been narrowed down to the wiring harness between the a/f sensor and the brain.
