I mean, I know that it "learns" your driving style and adjusts throttle response and shift points accordingly. I was wondering if it learned different shift patterns in the different ECT modes. So that if you drove lightly in normal mode for a while and then aggressively in power mode for a while, would it learn 2 different shifting patterns for the 2 different modes? intakerGS Posted June 26, 2010 Share Posted June 26, 2010 Nope. When switching to ECT power, your ECU overrules any adaptive drivestyle learnings. It 'knows' you want to spent fuel and rubber, therefore shifting only when gears reach maximum RPM (and keeping it there until maximum power/torque per gear is reached). No point in being adaptive at WOT. However, general performance for both power and normal mode is adjusted by ECU tresholds and/or fault readings, keeping engine and transmission within safe margins.
