I have gone through 3 different sets of instructions (they all varied) and I can't seem to find the RIGHT ones for programming my new key fob! I found one that worked for programming the 'lock' button, but it won't program the 'unlock' button. Does somebody have a set of instructions that they have used, and that actually worked? Thanks in advance!!

I HAVE PROGRAMED 4 DIFFERENT REMOTES WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

1. Driver's door OPEN and unlocked, all other doors closed and locked.

2. Insert YOUR key in ignition, DO NOT TURN, remove key.

3. Using the MANUAL lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly

press

lock and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).

4. Shut door.

5. Open door.

6. Using the lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock

and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).

7. With the door open insert your key into the ignition, turn to on

position (DON'T START), wait 5 seconds. Turn off and remove key.

8. Locks should cycle once (Car will lock and then unlock once). If

they

don't cycle or they cycle more than once, do steps 1-7 over.

9. Now using the remote, push lock button, hold for one second,

release.

The locks should cycle once. If not, start over and go slower.

10. Close the door. Open the door. Press the lock button on the remote.

The locks should cycle. Close the door. Press the lock button on the

remote, the doors should lock. Press again and the doors should

unlock.

Added: An afterthought, I'd suggest leaving a window down, just in case you get locked out.

BUT------ PAY ATTENTION TO THIS.

If ANY one of the 4 door locks hangs, (operates improperly), for ANY reason, the system shuts down and will not allow completion.

SO, good luck

It is a little hard trying to interpret your request. Seems to be a mix of Spanish with English that is confusing people.

Anyway, I would not recommend removing the lock cylinder just because you lost or misplaced the key. I think you can use the VIN to get a new key made. It is a lot better route than trying to pull the cylinder.

Have you thought about doing that?

This worked for my 1998 Lexus LS 400. I too had tried various alternative steps similar- this is the only one that worked.

Just a note- i had one ignition key, one valet key. Ignition key Does Not have battery. I have no lock/unlock fobs. Was able to reprogram ignition key. I left valet key in house while doing this because some forums said having two chipped keys close together could mess up programming.

Also- i did not open or shut any doors during the process- other than manually unlocking driver's door at the start. I didnt do it because i didnt realize directions said to leave drivers door ajar til the end. Despite having drivers door closed the entire time it still worked. O Hooray! My car's been dead in the water for 3 months- now she's back! & running fine as ever! 😉
