94 Gs300 Speed Odometer Not Working

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 94 GS300 and the speed odometer isn't working. Everything else on the cluster panel is operating fine, including the mileage odometer. I've checked the fuse and it appears good. Does anyone know if this means the instrument cluster panel is going out or is this something more serious? Thanks

I have a '93 GS300 with the same problem, sometimes the tach doesn't work either but if I smack the top of the dash a couple of times it comes on. I was ticked the other day for speeding (17 miles over) though wile driving with the cruise control set. Anyone else experience this?

I agree I had 1989 Maxima, and the speed sensor that plugs into the transmission was bad/or unplugged.
