jjberns
After a pretty rough winter here in Iowa, I noticed some surface rust today while washing my car, mainly behind the wheels on the body and towards the bottom of the car doors. I was able to vigorously scrub most of them out, however, I was wondering if any of you suggest any polish or wax i should use to eliminate this problem and prevent it from recurring. Any help is greatly appreciated!
tex2670
The car has a good warranty regarding rust. I'd suggest going to the dealer and making a claim before you try to take care of it yourself.
smooth1
yep. tex is right on. I'd be down at the dealer right now arranging them to fix that.
LEXUS IS250 AWD
Wasn't aware that rust was covered under the warranty. Is this only for the duration of the bumper to bumper warranty? Or does it only apply if you had the car rust proofed by the dealer?

It's for 72 months no matter the mileage I believe. I'm sure if you go the the Lexus website they would have this info listed. In fact, here I just did it for ya, click on this http://www.lexus.com/models/ES/warranty/index.html
