Sixdown Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 What should I do if I bought my car with the tachometer needle snapped off? I haven't had that needle for ages. Should I assume that I need to buy an intact used cluster and most likely get that repaired?
027922 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Depending on how much you love your car, since it is 20 years old and you don't really need a tach with an auto tranny, you could just leave as is. If you want it fixed then switch it out with a functioning salvage unit.
steve2006 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The gas tank gauge problem is normally due to a single capacitor failure on the cluster panel and 2 others give the flickering dash problem. If you can DIY it can be sorted for a couple of $$ or get a local radio shop to fit them for you. There are details on removing the cluster on www.lexls.com and cluster repair instructions on the web.
