Blown Subwoofer

Hey guys do you know what kind of specs are needed to install a subwoofer like the watts and the ohm. My stock Pioneer subwooer blew and idk what to replace it with i dont want to buy original because they want $225 is there anybody that replaced their old woofer and what did they use? Also how would i know if i had an amp in the car where would it be located?
