magat1 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 I am getting some wheels that are 18 by 8.5 with a +35 offset and was wondering what size tire should I get? Thanks
bean_8044 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 i have 235/40 on my 18x8 in front and they rub a bit when turning sharply. i think anything smaller and youre going to sacrifice more ride quality though.
Lex Luthor Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 +35 is very far off from stock, you may want to reconsider as this will affect the way the car behaves.
magat1 Posted January 29, 2004 Author Posted January 29, 2004 +35 is very far off from stock, you may want to reconsider as this will affect the way the car behaves. do you mean that it will stick out too much or will it be flush?
AWJ Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 At +35 the wheels may look flush but they might stick out enought to hit the top of the quarter in certain conditions. Depends on the wheel design as well. The +35 will affect tracking of the vehicle and handling. I'd recommend +40 to +50. IT would be really nice if vendors would let us test fit the wheels first. My halo's are +38 I believe. Ride is fine in my opinion. But they rub on dips and sharp turns. I will probably modify the rear panels. I might sell the wheels. Not sure yet.
SPORTcoupe300 Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 My wheels are 18x8 with (I believe) a +45 offset. I'm using Toyo FZ4 245/40-18 Tires and the ride is pretty nice with barely any rubbing in the front and none in the rear. Car is also lowered an inch with Eibach Pro springs.
