Usually don't purchase the extended warranties, but they are offering a "ding protection" one for $299. Given the finish I was wondering anyone else's experience. 1990LS400 Posted September 8, 2009 Share Posted September 8, 2009 Wow! I'd love to read the fine print on that "warranty" ... e.g. when is a blemish a covered "ding" and when it is noncovered "dent"? When is it a covered scratch and when is it a noncovered gouge? Can the ding repair be done anywhere or at another Lexus dealership or only at the dealership where you purchased the car? I'm guessing that the dealer remit is less than $50 and that the rest of the $299 is kept as dealer profit. Could you scan and upload this "warranty" to this thread? I could certainly use some humor.
