Disable Seatbelt Chime..2010 Rx

Recommended Posts

I've seen lists of the customizable settings for probably every Lexus model since they came up with CBES/LPS but I don't remember seeing an option to turning off the seatbelt reminder chime on any of them.

Here is the LPS list for the RX350: http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RX350_LPS.pdf

This has to be done by the dealer. We had the chime disabled when we bought the car.

Tommy- Is your RX350 a 2010 model? My dealership's service department says the chime can't be disabled on the 2010 models. Would be nice to go back and tell them that it can be done...

I just had my 2010 RX 450h in today specifically for this - in and out service, I was at the dealer for 25 minutes.

Disabled chime for front driver, passenger and rear seats.

Good luck

this worked on my IS250 wtihout a Nav system. trying to find out how to on my RX that does have the Nav as it doesn't have a trip reset button to push in

Here is an example to turn off the seat belt warning:

1. turn the key to the ON position (press Start 2 times), foot off the brake

2. cycle the odometer with the trip reset button until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B )

3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position

4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.

5. turn the key to the ON position (Press Start 2 times). when the dash lights have come on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)

6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.

7. the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.

8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off

This has to be done by the dealer. We had the chime disabled when we bought the car.

I tried this sequence on my '10 RX350, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried it twice but no luck. Anyone else had success?
