eminor Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 can anyone tell me what tools are needed to replace front rotors on a 1998 ES300? Help I'm stuck!!!!!
dropspace Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 if it's anything like the rotors on a 92, you'll need a 48oz sledge to get them off. you may have to whack the crap out of them but they come off eventually!
amf1932 Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Basically, all you need to replace the disc(s) are a socket set and screwdrivers. It should be a simple job to replace them. You just remove the caliper bolts and swing it out of the way. There is no need to remove the brake hose. You also have to remove the torque plate. At this point all you have to do is pull off the disc. If it seems stuck, tap the rear of the disc with a hammer. Reverse the procedure to put everything back together.
