Newbyguy Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 So the truck has 67000 miles on it but the battery is way less than 84 months old. I'm wondering the likelyhood that the local Lexus dealership will replace the faulty battery at no charge - even if I didn't buy the car from them? Any guesses? Thanks!
mann777 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I guess not, battery are not covered under warranty. You could try your luck with the dealer
The G Man Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Lol, you are lucky you got 7 years out of a battery.
Newbyguy Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Lol, you are lucky you got 7 years out of a battery. It's only been 4. Car is an 06. Why would the battery say 84 month on it then? Just hopeful still...
lenore Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Usually the batteries are pro-rated. As the years go by, you get less of the replacement cost.

The G Man Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 The Lexus battery is guarantee for 7 years? I never knew that.
Newbyguy Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 The Lexus battery is guarantee for 7 years? I never knew that. What does that mean to me then?
BlackBubble Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 The Lexus battery is guarantee for 7 years? I never knew that. What does that mean to me then? I believe you will get some credit toward the purchase of a replacement battery (same brand, retail price).
mann777 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 wow ! could someone tell me what is the retail price. I would prefer this over Diehard if they last so long.
aljodoro Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 What size is the lexus battery Is it a group 27. Thanks, Al

I had the case on my RX after 4 years of a new Lexus/Toyota battery: the cost of the battery is prorated (remaining to 7 years) but the cost of the Lexus battery and labor charge nonetheless remaineds above what I would pay to get a new battery elsewhere (which I did)..
