Why do you have SO many products??

Rule #1 Keep It Simple. No need for 5 different polishes and 7 different waxes.

Haha, I know! But I'm sorry to say my friend, you are wrong. Different polishes for different scenarios. They all "cut" differently. Did you know Menzerna makes a special polish for the new Cermiclear clearcoats? It's amazing!

As for waxes/sealants, yes, definitely a difference. Are you seeking relection versus protection? You can't put a sealant on top of a wax, but vice-versa. Do you want clarity or warmth? You would be surprised at how different of an appearance they are, especially when I was doing it as a profession.

I agree completely, when I was detailing professionally I had at least that many products. Hell, I have half that many now...

Different polishes work better on different paints, some are harder than others. Different LSPs (waxes & sealants) look better on different colors and body styles. Some customers want sealants, some want carnuaba.

You gotta have an arsenal...

Its shops that use a bunch of bulk crap and don't have any passion for what they are doing that dillute the work of true detailers...

Here is the updated list. Bunch of the Adam's stuff got ate up this week. The pictures are the same, but if you don't see the item description/price, that means it was sold. I am heading to Mexico next week for Spring Break, but back on Friday. I will catch up with any/all requests then.

First one to call something out will get it.

Thanks again,

Nick

Would you suggest using anything different for me living in Las Vegas? Our summers here get 115+ degrees.

If you have anything in stock that you would suggest for the climate, and on a Silver 2006 ES330, I'll buy it.

Also, I have never been able to get wax off of rubber/plastic trim (like the bed rail covers on our 2004 F-150). How the frick do you get the wax out of the textured plastic?

Hey there,

Yes I do! I've done the SEMA show before, and have detailed several times in the hot summers of Vegas using the Adam's products. Adam's Butter Wax was designed to be used in the sun. It's a carnuaba/polymer blend, so you get great protection and warm relectivity/shine. If you went with just an off the wall carnuaba base, it would melt right off. This stuff will get you some decent durability, great shine, and easy results. I have either a full 12oz bottle or the remainder of a 1/2 gallon I purchased, but would just prefer to sell you both at a deal.

If you want a pure polymer (more protection, clearer reflectivity), go with Poorboy's EX-P. This works well especially for lighter colored cars (Silver, white), and again is very easy to use, even in the sun. Again, I have a full 16oz bottle and the remaider of a gallon that I purchased, but it wouldn't be much just to get both.

Having a 2006, you may consider doing a paint cleaner prior to remove any physical/chemical contaminations that are on the surface after washing. This, in conjunction with a claybar to remove the physical contaminants (which I don't have), will allow you to get optimum results from any protection you put on the surface.

I know exactly what you're talking about on the F150 plastic. It's a pain! You can try a solvent and a toothbrush, or something like Goo-Gone. It's best to keep it all protected afterwards though. Something with SPF in it works wonders. Adam's VRT or Optimum's Protectant Plus work nicely. Neither are silicone based or greasy.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you out with!

Nick

What kind of cleaner do you suggest? And do you have any in stock?

Also, for the polymer (Poorboy's EX-P) and cleaner (if you have it), what would you want for those (the whole lot of 16oz and partial gallons)?

Lastly, will any clay bar work, or is there a heirarchy there also?

If you want to go with Poorboy's, their Polish with carnuaba is a great cleaner and base for Poorboy's EX-P. It too, like all of his products, are easy to use. From there, you maintain with his QD+. I'll give you both the 16oz and the remainder of the gallon, with the polish and spray for $54 shipped/insured via UPS.

As for clay, you would be fine with just a mild grade that you can pick up from you local auto parts store. Due to the copyright, there is only 1 manufacture who can sell to the states right now :(

If you want, I can take Paypal, and won't charge you for the fee incurred. I work on a computer all day now, so can communicate with you in realtime to answer any additional questions.

Thanks,

Nick

Crap, I was looking on their site and adding things up, and the wife accidently ordered it. It's costing me $45 for 2 bottles (polish and EX-P) dammitdammitdammit.

That's what I get for going to their site and leaving it up.

Sorry man.

You've got a great wife!

Call and cancel it or change it. Steve (aka Poorboy) is a great guy. Their Spray and Wipe is a great waterless wash. Their Leather conditioner is great as well, and Bold n' Bright looks awesome on the tires and doesn't sling!

Here's his number: 845-215-9700

That's ok. If I like it, then I'll buy what you have left (and probably more than I should). Deal?

You got it man! You'll enjoy it for sure. Try to find some microfiber applicators. EX-P works best for me when applying with MF's. Comes off SOOOOO easy.

So for the clay bars, I do a great wash job, then use the bar? Then the polish/cleaner, then the EX-P. Do I have that right? And can/should I use a buffing machine with the cleaner & EX-P?

You got it. Just make sure to use a bit of detail spray/clay lube when claying.

The Poorboys stuff was made to be used by hand or machine. You'll get better cleaning results if used with a buffer, but it's not necessary. As for the EX-P, I personally like to apply my sealants/waxes by hand.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, a couple of weekends ago I set out to do the deed on our new (to us) 2006 ES330. I washed it thoroughly by hand, dried it and put it in the garage for the 3-step Claybar, cleaner, and Poorboy's EX-P treatment. I claybared it and let me tell you, there was a LOT of crap stuck to the paint. I could tell after washing it and running my hand over it. But the claybar did the trick. Smooth as a babys butt after.

Then I hand-applied the Poorboy's W/Carnuba and used my trusty Craftsman buffer to take it off once hazed. I have never felt/seen a paint so beautiful afterward, but I knew I better finish the job with the Poorboy's EX-P.

I applied the EX-P by hand, and it was strange that it seemed to soak into the paint more than the Cleaner/Carnuba. I needed about 50% more of the EX-P than the Cleaner/Carnuba. I guess the paint was really thirsty for some of this good stuff.

After letting it dry for about an hour (and giving me a much needed rest). I fired up the buffer with a new bonnet on it and took to removing the EX-P. More of it seemed to stay on the paint than the Cleaner/Carnuba, which told me that the paint soaked most of it up, and that I'd be happy with it once done.

After removing the EX-P with the buffer, I replaced the terry bonnet with a microfiber bonnet and went over the car once again to polish it to it's finest.

Let me tell you, if you do this combo to your car, you will be rewarded with the finest depth/reflection you have ever seen. I am going to put another coat of the EX-P in a couple of weeks just to top off the polymers on the paint, but I would only suggest doing it only if you feel the need. I could get away without it for probably the rest of the year.

Thank you Nick for the suggestion, and they did better than I could have imagined. And as soon as I do, if I am close to running out of either, I'll be looking to see if you still have either the Cleaner/Carnuba or the EX-P left.

I am just a regular ES330 owner and have no affiliation to either Nick or Poorboy's, but they know their stuff about protecting your paint.

Hey Nick, what do you think of "Polycharger"?

http://www.pakshak.com/polycharger.html

I was looking for products similar to EX-P and came across this mix chart for it.

http://www.pakshak.com/polycharger-wax-com...lity-chart.html

From what I can tell by searching for EX-P's ingredients, this stuff looks to be the most similar, for cheaper.
