cdTray
I just got myself a new 2009 IS350. I have owned it now for about 2 weeks, and after filling up the car with gas for the first time (i don't know if this has anything to do with my problem or not), and starting it a few hours later, I heard a clanking type sound coming from the car when the engine was relatively cold. It sounded like it came from the starter motor and sounded kind of like two pieces of metal rubbing on each other. This happened to me twice on the same day, but has not happened again since. I read about some 2006 IS's having a similar problem, but nothing on the 2009 model. I'm not sure what to do or what the problem is. Any advice? Should I be concerned? tex2670
you should call the dealer, especially if it happens frequently. if it's only on cold starts, they'll probably want you to leave it overnight so they can start it cold.
cdTray
I forgot to mention that I did call up Lexus, and I told them about this problem and if they had heard anything about it, and the guy told me he had not and that i should keep a log of when it happens and what not.
