Seems to be coming from the steering cloumun ..any ideas on how to silence it? what makes u think its the steering column kurtk? given ne thought that it maybe suspension related try checking the shocks/springs/motor mounts/tranny mount/bump stops/ball joints/bushings....start with the one that makes common sense like shocks/springs. u still running oem shocks/springs?
BillyShaft Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I know this isn't exactly the same application you have, but my Jeep developed a squeak when turning the steering wheel. I tracked it down to the rubber bushing where the steering shaft went through the firewall. I shot it with some white lithium grease spray, and that squeak went away.
djspawn00 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 my steering wheel does that too sometimes when its very cold... it usually just goes away when the interior of the car warms up... it just sounds like plastic brushing up against rubber...
kurtk Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Saj, I can tell it's from the immediate steering wheel area. Just when making minor turns ..it kinds of moans almost. small tunrs either way will ellict a small squeak. I'd like to fire away with WD 40 or something maybe silcon spray .

Rune04 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 My steering column sometimes lets out a loud squeal when I remove the key and the wheel retracts in. It is pretty annoying. Anybody else have this and know of a cure?
