The tranny performance button near the shifter (on autos), I know its for performance, but what does it really do?

Does it make you shift later? (allowing you to reach higher rpms?)

What does it actually do?

overdrive...

No, not the overdrive button--thats located on the actual shift lever. I'm talking about the button on the console next to the shift lever.

Here's a picture of the button, I labeled them-- What does that button actually do? (Other than give 'performance transmission function') Shift at higher RPMs, etc.. ??

Yes, the car will shift gears at higher RPMs when in POWER mode - for passing on an uphill grade etc.
