ben99lx470
Hello, Have the dreaded error 3 on my cd player. I want to remove it to send it in for repair but I can't figure out how to remove the trim around it! I already cracked the front of the face plate on the stereo - any help would be appreciated. roberttran
Is the CD player broken or just jammed? If it is just jammed you can fix it yourself by using a plastic fork, spoon or fork handle to push it back in or use a pair of forceps to pull it out. If you are still bent on taking it out, youll have to pry it out from the top, side and bottom of wood trim. -Robert
ben99lx470
Thanks for your reply. No I don't think it is jammed, I hear the changer moving around then error 3. Looked to see if I could see a CD but there was none. Is there a trick to pulling off the wood trim? I don't want to break anything else. THANKS! roberttran
I used the screwdriver head on my swiss army knife to pry it out. Try to do a search on google for removing the LX radio. I remember seeing some pictures somewhere. Just try using a plastic fork handle to stick it in the slot to see if you can push the CD back. When you hear it moving around, it is trying to load/eject the disk but since it isn't where it's suppose to be, the mechanics get caught on the jammed CD. How did this happen? Did you run over a bump and it stopped working? -Robert
ben99lx470
Thanks Robert, I will try it. My wife said it happened while she was loading a cd. Thanks Again Ben
jrwright
ben99lx470, You may have already finished your removal, but in case you haven't..... Check out this link ---> http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalToyLandCruiser.htm Good luck. BTW, I got the same error and the shop from the link above fixed it. They are local for me so I didn't have to ship it.
