Greetings From Russia!

Hello everybody!

I'm from Russia. It seems interesting to me to participate here in Lexus Club US.

I've got Lexus RX350. I've bought it new in 2006, when production of this model started. Interesting fact - in US RX350 costs something about 40000$, and in Russia prices rate above 70000$. "Nice" taxes we've got....

Welcome Gizmus!

That is quite a pricetag...is the RX350 uncommon there?

Thank you!

No! RX is the most popular SUV in Russia! We have a mix of tastes here in our country. Most prefer german or japanese cars (about 50\50). But the market rises too fast so other brands become popular too. German cars popular in Russia for their brands like MB, BMW, Audi and luxury they bring, but japanese cars are popular for their high quality and reliability! You know I myself from Moscow (capital) - lived their whole my life (24 years), but now I live near the Black Sea - it's Krasnodarskiy Krai, so I should say, that roads in Moscow are much better - they good enough, but here in Krasnodar they are awfull! Now I understand why Russian's like SUV's so much, espesially japanese. These roads in Krasnodar kill suspension of a car too fast, and also the quality of the fuel is not very good. That's why RX is popular here. Of course it's not a driver's car like X5 or Cayenne, but it's luxury, comfortable, reliable and cheaper than german SUV's.

But I should say that the most popular are used RXs from USA :-) 3-year old car is advantageous purchase here! But from Jan.2009 our government rises taxes so new and used (but not old) imported cars will be more expensive.
