Lethal_Threat Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 When my motor is cold and i start it, i get a nice even whistle from the engine area, as the engine warms up to normal operating temps it stops. I am fearing an exhaust leak seemingly between where the primary cats meet my exhaust system. Hopefully just needs an exhaust gasket? Any opinions, hadnt had a chance to put it on a lift while running to inspect.
High Class SC Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Maybe belt chirp in the early AM... Replace the belt and it should go away...

Any opinions, hadnt had a chance to put it on a lift while running to inspect. Had the "whistling" happen to me as well, it turned out to be the harmonic balancer. The rubber around the main crank deteriorated and during startup would whistle until the rubber surround heated up. I would check to see if the main crank is moving once the car is on just to be safe.
