Hinge Poping On 90 Ls400

It's possible that the door might not be aligned properly and is causing the forward edge of the door to hit the fender when opening. Check to see if you are not scraping paint off the door edge. I had a similar problem with another car a long time ago and it made a popping noise when the door finally cleared the fender. Just a thought.

I've had quite a few meatwagon cars in my days. The cars I had that were door poppers had been bent open too far. One by some previous owner and once when I was backing up in a snowstorm and caught it on a snowbank. I think it kind of bends the hine mounts. From then on they pop. I also found that nobody ever admits to doing it as I have found mysterious door poppers and slightly bent hinges that happened on their own.
