Passenger Side Seat Belt Sensor

I have a GS350 2008 model and I have noticed that when I have a passenger in the front seat that when that passenger gets out the seat belt alarm dings for about 15-20 seconds. Is this normal? I took it to the Lexus dealer and they told me that it is normal. I have also noticed that when I have a passenger in the front seat and after getting out of the vehicle I use the button on the door handle to arm the car. I have seen issues with this where it seems like the car doesn't arm and the lights have stayed on for like 10 minutes. I took it to the dealer and they said that they couldn't find anything. The arming issue I have only seen it on a few occassions. I just wanted to know if anybody else has experienced the same problem. It seems like to me that the sensor on the passenger seat doesn't seem to realize quick enough that there is not a passenger there anymore. Please let me know if you have had similar issues.

If the passenger door is not fully close, the system will not arm. The passenger side seat belt chime can be shut off, the procedure is in here somewhere, try to do a search.
