The Bartender
Hello, 2006 IS 250 owner. I have searched around for this, and have not seen another mention of it. I recently cleaned the surface of my rearview thinking that it was dirty - still found the same 'dirt' on it. Upon closer inspection, the issue does not appear to be on the front glass surface of the mirror, but the coating within the mirror. It looks like flecks of the mirror coating are coming off - tough to tell. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks, TB

JENunnez
Yea, my rearview mirror is doing the same thing. The silver is coming off the inside of the mirror. Next time I go to the dealer I'm going to ask them to replace it.
013077
Similar issue here. I don't know where it came from but it's definitely not on the surface of the rearview mirror. Does anyone think this is something covered under the 48mth/50K mile warranty?
smooth1
It would definately fall under the warrentee. And it's actually pretty easy to change them out.

013077
Similar issue here. I don't know where it came from but it's definitely not on the surface of the rearview mirror. Does anyone think this is something covered under the 48mth/50K mile warranty? Just a quick update: Took the vehicle to my Lexus dealership today and the rearview mirror was replaced at no cost. :D The Dealership stated they had 2 recent cases for the same issue on the IS. Make sure you have it replaced before your warranty expires.
