S.Myers
I recently purchased a 97' lx450 and the CD changer had been removed. Just wondering what sound system was originally installed and what can I replace it with.
Rookie
From what I know, there is no aftermarket changer that will fit/replace the factory changer, and to get a new one costs some jack ($900 or $1200 is I recall). I had seen a previous thread where an outfit would replace the guts for like $350. Check the previous posts, but that may have gotten deleted in the "big purge". I guess since you don't have the original, it may not help you. My guess is you'll have to look at replacing the head unit with a built in CD player. I didn't have much luck finding one that could handle multiple CD's though. I didn't investigate too deeply though. Sorry- not much help. Maybe one of these other guys has better advise. Rookie. PIONEERSUBY
the changer is pioneer made as is the radio. there are no aftermarket susbstitutes. it mounted in the console and came standard so someone removed yours. no other ledxuschanger will work as it was a special pioneer changer cdx-p9066zt that ejects out the back of the changer toward the rear seat passengers.
