Lexusfreak Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 The Yoko's are a good tire, however they are not rated that highly in snowy & winter conditions & the treadwear rating is only 320 as well.
es30014 Posted March 17, 2004 Author Posted March 17, 2004 I clicked on the link you gave me but it didn't show the contipremiums.......I can't even find them on the continental website.....???
Lexusfreak Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 When you click on the link, & scroll to the bottom.....you will see an icon on the bottom right hand side that says "next" there are 4 pages total in that link & the conti premiums are on the 3rd page. et me know if your still having trouble. B)
es30014 Posted March 18, 2004 Author Posted March 18, 2004 it's the contipremiers that are on the 3rd page
SW03ES Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 The ContiPremiers are the ContiPremiums, it seems Continental changed the name. Thats them though. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp...ng=ZR&x=11&y=13
Lexusfreak Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 If you get te contipremiums in the future sw, let me know how you like them.
es30014 Posted March 21, 2004 Author Posted March 21, 2004 I did find the contipremiums because if you click show all continental tires when you are viewing the continentals it will show you those.........and the contipremiers got better ratings than the contipremiums.....I'm think I'm sticking w/ contipremiers
es30014 Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 Call me a dummy for not realizing this till now.......but no wonder Bridgestone is so sorry......IT'S MADE BY FIRESTONE
SW03ES Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Well, not exactly. Bridgestone and Firestone merged a few years back, one doesn't own the other they became an new joint entity, BridgestoneFirestone. Bridgestone tires aren't bad, niether are Firestones. They both make some of the best and most well regarded performance tires in the world. Like any company though, the budget product is the least impressive and thats what we've got.
es30014 Posted April 7, 2004 Author Posted April 7, 2004 That's true...while searching on tirerack.com I saw some nice Bridgestones, like the turanza ls-v,or z or whatever it is....but much more expensive
Lexusfreak Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Every tire maker has there good & bad models. A lot of apprehension over the Ford Explorer issue. For the type of cars both myself & my soon to be wife drive....Bridgestone & Firestone will not be getting business from us anytime soon. I either stick with Toyo (Proxes TPS's) or a good Michelin for my better half. Falken tires did extremely well in the latest Consumer Reports tire ratings! Came in first in the Performance touring all season category! go figure!
SW03ES Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Michelin is a great tire, I have them on my Explorer (mine never had Firestones ;) ) but they're SO expensive and I'm not certain they're really worth the price. I'm going to replace my Bridgies with Continental ContiPremierContacts. Never had Contis before but they come highly reccomended and they're $85 each as opposed to a $130 Michelin.
