2000+ Tail Lights In A 1997 Es300

I want to start off by saying I despise the tail lights for the 97 ES300. Never have I seen a more putrid tail light. Which leads me to my question... I was checking out the lights on the 2000 model (the one with "ES300" emblem on the plastic itself) and it looked the same size and shape as mine, just my car was parked like 6 spaces away from this one so it was hard to compare. Does anyone know for certain if they will fit snugly? I'd greatly appreciate any feedback to this inquiry.

They should fit.....quite few members have done that mod on here.....and I agree the 2000 - 2001 tails look much better.
