brentjo Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 I have a 95 LS 400 and a few things you might want to watch for are: struts needing to be replaced brakes are good for about 40K power steering pumps have been known to go out Other than that it is a great car, just keep it maintained
SW03ES Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 You also want to stay away from cars with the air suspension option because it is VERY expensive to replace when it goes.
UCF3 Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Take it to the Lexus Dealer or show it to a very good mechanic, and have the car throughly checked out. You definitely want to lookout for any kind of leaks. Body Damage can be checked out by you, by looking at any deformations, paint pealing and blemishes and so on. Oh yah, the first reaction is usually the best one, and finally, BARGAIN, BARGAIN, BARGAIN. Happy buying
SW03ES Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Also, any Lexus dealer can run the VIN and tell you the service history they have. They can do this over the phone.
