ISinNC Posted May 30, 2008 Share Posted May 30, 2008 Hi, has anyone installed the Pioneer Avic-D3 in-dash nav in their IS? My IS doesnt have the navigation package but I think that it will be helpful when my wife drives the car and to hook up the iPod. Can anyone direct me to a thread about this or give me a little info(does it fit, any extra wiring, how hard is the install, does it affect the sound at all, etc.). Much Appreciated! heyoceanfloor Posted May 31, 2008 Share Posted May 31, 2008 I installed an AVIC-D3 in my 01 and it works beautifully. I'm sure a few others on this forum will echo that... the ipod interface rules. you'll need a metra toyota interface harness (model piece TYTO01, check circuit city) for it to communicate, and since it looks like you have an 03 you won't have to do much else. There's a whole walkthrough for the install, I did it myself. It took a while but it works!
